EIZO receives an A- score in leadership for climate change from the CDP

Press release

EIZO Corporation (TSE: 6737) announced that the company received an A- score in Leadership in the Climate Change 2022 Questionnaire conducted by CDP, an international not-for-profit organization that runs a global disclosure system for managing environmental impact.

The CDP questionnaire consists of approximately 130 questions on climate change, including governance, business strategy, and stakeholder engagement activities. A CDP score provides a snapshot of a company’s disclosure and environmental performances and is scored on an eight-point scale from A to D-. CDP’s scoring methodology assesses the level of detail and comprehensiveness in response to, as well as the company’s awareness of environmental issues, its management methods, and progress towards environmental stewardship.

To earn an A score, companies must demonstrate both awareness of their impacts on the environment and take appropriate action to reduce these in line with the Paris Agreement. Organizations must show environmental leadership and demonstrate best practice in strategy and action as recognized by frameworks such as the TCFD, Accountability Framework, and others. Additionally, companies will have undertaken actions such as setting science-based targets, reporting on environmental impact for relevant operations, supply chains, and commodities, and other efforts.

EIZO has participated in numerous activities such as the disclosure of environmental information based on TCFD recommendations, obtaining SBTi Approval for GHG emission reduction targets, and making the commitment toward achieving those targets. The A- score in Leadership achieved by EIZO recognizes the company’s progressive efforts to achieve a decarbonized society.
