To protect the environment
Sustainable monitors from EIZO
Environmentally and climate friendly production
Environmentally friendly use of materials
EIZO FlexScan monitors include models made from more than 80% recycled plastic. This reduces the amount of plastic waste entering the environment, conserves resources, and promotes the reuse of materials.
Reducing the use of volatile organic compounds (VOCs) in material production, such as those found in certain paints and coatings, is also of global interest.
Through years of research, EIZO has succeeded in achieving smooth, homogeneous color and texture in its monitor housings without the use of paint.
For monitor packaging, EIZO says goodbye to plastic and polystyrene to reduce environmental impact. Instead, the monitor is securely packaged with molded pulp made from recycled cardboard and newsprint. The included cables are wrapped in paper instead of plastic bags.
Recycling old equipment
As a manufacturer, we are committed to responsibly monitoring the life cycle of our products from start to finish, even after use. In Japan, parts of Europe, and the U.S., we take back used monitors for recycling to fulfill our responsibility beyond the useful life of our products.
Longevity and repairability
EIZO monitors are designed to last a long time - usually well beyond the five-year warranty for office monitors. Replacement parts are available for the majority of all models for up to five years after the end of production.
The entire usage cycle takes into account the impact on the environment, as longevity and repairability conserve resources and the climate.
Certified environmental management systems
We manufacture at our own facility, which has an ISO 14001 certified environmental management system. This includes measures to reduce waste, wastewater and emissions, resource and energy consumption, through to promoting environmentally conscious behavior among employees. We publicly account for these measures on an annual basis.
Not only do we comply with international environmental laws and regulations, but we also meet the latest environmental standards and certifications.
Compliance with Laws
EIZO complies with international laws and regulations on environmental protection and the effective use of energy. In countries outside Europe, we also understand these regulations as an incentive to take similar measures.

Save power with EIZO FlexScan monitors
Save up to 30% energy with EcoView Optimizer
Saving power without loss of quality: The EcoView Optimizer automatically reduces the backlight in dark images. This reduces power consumption by up to 30%. At the same time, the signal is amplified and the color tone values are adjusted. The result: You experience the usual picture quality with lower consumption.
Automatic brightness adjustment with Auto EcoView
Because the lighting conditions around a monitor change over the course of a day, one of the features we developed was the unique Auto EcoView function. With it, the monitor's screen brightness adjusts perfectly to the lighting conditions.
Thanks to the automatic brightness adjustment, you save up to 50% power compared to a monitor permanently operated at full brightness.
Zero wattage consumption due to power switch
The monitors have an integrated, mechanical power switch. This is extremely practical and power-saving: If you turn the monitor off via the power switch, the device does not consume any power at all. In stand-by mode, the consumption is no more than 0.5 watts.
