Ideal for control rooms, control rooms and trading centers - and when size and resolution are important.
Image quality
Precise, high-contrast, bright and crisp screen
The EV4340X supports 4K (3840 x 2160 pixel) resolution, displaying four times the amount of information than standard Full HD (1920 x 1080 pixel), and more than two times the amount than WQHD (2560 x 1440 pixel) monitors.
Whether control room, control room or retail workstation - the FlexScan EV4340X with 4K Ultra HD resolution supports your work with its exceptional display quality. Texts and graphics are presented on the 42,5 inch monitor thanks to a native resolution of 3840 x 2160 (4K UHD) pixels and 104 ppi (pixels per inch) clearly and precisely.
The monitor is capable of all three key elements of excellent image quality: excellent resolution of 3840 x 2160 (4K UHD) pixels, maximum contrast of 1000:1, and stable brightness of up to 350 cd/m². That means you will experience razor-sharp text contours, brilliant graphics, and clear images. Thanks to the high-quality IPS panels with LED backlight, contrasts and colours remain stable from every viewing angle.
An image can only be perfect if the colors are, too. This is why EIZO monitors have a 10-bit look-up table at a minimum, which allows the color information to be assigned much more precisely than with conventional 8-bit LUTs. The finest color gradations ensure that gradients are always perfectly displayed, while also offering customised adjustment options. For example, you can adjust the white balance from 4000 K to 10 000 K in 500-K intervals.
The overdrive function accelerates the switching time so that gray-grey changes take place in just 5 ms on average. You can watch movies and fast image changes without annoying afterglow. When scrolling and positioning windows or images, the display is legible in fractions of a second - faster than it can be perceived. Power consumption and energy efficiency are always in view.
Variety of ports
Best connectivity
It couldn't be simpler: you can connect most signal sources such as computers, video decoders or even supply lines from server rooms directly to the monitor. This is because the EV4340X has various signal interfaces and connections, including a headphone connection and USB down interfaces. This makes integration into the intended installation easier.
Two PCs, one control
It has never been easier to operate different PCs with a single mouse and keyboard. Thanks to the USB upstream ports, the EV4340X has an integrated KVM (Keyboard Video Mouse) switch. The monitor automatically links the mouse and keyboard to the currently active source computer. For example, connected computers can each be operated on the same combination of monitor, mouse and keyboard. This ensures uninterrupted work and a tidy workspace.
For the use of the EV4340X in video surveillance solutions, we recommend the optional IP decoding box from EIZO. It enables the computer-free connection of multiple IP cameras or a video management system in security and surveillance environments. The IP decoding box from EIZO is particularly suitable for monitor walls. Neither computers nor software are required for connection to the video network. The compact box can be attached to the EV4340X using a VESA mount and adapter plate to save space. Comprehensive functionalities and compatibilities make the IP decoding box from EIZO a very flexible and space-saving solution module for the output of video streams.

Video and audio playback, fast data transfer including network signal and power supply for connected devices - all this and more can be realized with a single USB-C cable. Particularly practical if a notebook with a USB-C or Thunderbolt interface needs to be connected to the monitor.
The 94 W power supply via USB-C reliably charges small computers or notebooks. This eliminates the need for an additional computer power supply unit.
We have tested a small selection of different devices and the compatibility between monitor and computer for you and described them on the international EIZO website.
Stable network connection
The monitor has a dedicated LAN port to ensure a stable wired network connection. Laptops and PCs require only one USB cable to be connected to the EV4340X to gain network access via the monitor. This is particularly advantageous for laptops that do not have a LAN connection and allows stable data transfer, which is required for video conferences, for example. As a network device the monitor has its own MAC address.
Optionally, the "EIZO MAC Address Clone Utility" software for Windows can temporarily assign the MAC address of the connected PC to the monitor. This transparency grants authenticated PCs network access through the monitor.
Software and ease of use
Features for greater comfort
With the picture-in-picture function (PbyP), the monitor can display up to four video signals side by side on its large screen. You can select your preferred picture arrangement from 12 layouts using the button on the front of the monitor or the remote control. This enables optimized screen usage for efficient operation with more than one source.
Picture-in-Picture mode allows you to display two image signals at the same time – a main image and a reduced-scale image from another signal source inserted into the main image. The size and position of the second window can be varied.
Preset colour modes optimize the viewing of graphics, text and tables or video. You can set the respective preset for brightness, gamma correction and color temperature at the touch of a button.
Electrostatic switches are integrated into the front of the EV4340X instead of mechanical buttons. This ensures ease of use while also giving the monitor an extremely elegant look.
With the Button Guide, you have all functions at a glance. One touch of the control panel is enough, and the function assignment of the buttons is displayed. Your advantage: clarity of operation and a clean, uncluttered design.
The speakers and all the controls are also built into the bezel, pointing forward in the direction of the user. They are fully integrated into the monitor’s flat, nearly frameless design to offer an excellent user experience.
The supplied remote control can be used to control the volume, brightness, signal input, picture-in-picture and other settings as well as to switch the monitor on and off. This is useful if the buttons on the front of the monitor cannot be reached, e.g. for wall installations.
Monitor control and administration
In addition to the on-screen menu, you can conveniently control the EV4340X by using the Screen InStyle software on a PC. The configuration options include color reproduction, energy saving options, and ergonomic functions. In multi-screen systems, the settings can be applied synchronously to all connected screens with Screen InStyle.
Software for monitor control by administrators
System administrators can centrally manage and control monitors connected in the network with Screen InStyle installed using the Screen InStyle Server application. This optimises power consumption and simplifies asset management of the monitors.
Company-wide default setup
Workload reduction for administrators: The software allows you to create a default setup for all relevant monitor settings. This setup can be distributed to the connected monitors via the local network which facilitates the roll-out process.
Design
A good figure in any set-up
The appearance of a monitor makes a significant contribution to creating a pleasant working atmosphere. With its fine, practically frameless design and ergonomic functions, the monitor blends naturally into the intended installation. In addition to elegant black, the housing is also available in white with matching white cables.
Ergonomics
Working in a relaxed manner
At day, at night, bright, dark: No matter when and how you work, the Auto EcoView function continuously measures changes of the ambient light and optimises the monitor with ideal brightness values automatically by using a sensor. The benefits: Annoying glare is reduced, your eyes will not get tired as quickly. A special two-point control takes into account the brightest and darkest environment over the course of the day with the respectively desired screen brightness. Another plus: the automatic brightness adjustment can significantly reduce power consumption.
Of course, you can also continue to configure the monitor manually. EcoView Index is used for orientation on how economical your settings are.
For the sake of the eyes
To help protect your eyes, EIZO has developed a hybrid technology to control the backlight. This combines the benefits of the otherwise standard PWM (pulse width modulation) and DC (direct current) control. The PWM control uses much higher frequencies than standard PWM methods. The result: a flicker-free viewing experience while maintaining picture quality and colour stability. In addition, compared to pure DC control, you can adjust the brightness to less than 1% of the maximum value in darkly lit rooms. The benefit: Your screen remains free from flicker and glare even under these conditions.
The flicker-free and low blue light content of the EIZO FlexScan monitors is certified by TÜV Rheinland.
The EV4340X offers a perfect, non-glare surface. By minimising glare by diffusing the reflected light, the EV4340X effectively protects your eyes from straining. This keeps your eyes from getting as tired and allows you to sit comfortably in front of the monitor, without having to sit in a forced position to prevent glare.
With its stable, non-adjustable stand, the monitor stands securely in its installation location. For VESA mounting, the EV4340X has VESA100 and VESA200 screw connections.
Sustainability
Environmentally and socially conscious production
Energy efficiency is an important aspect in the development of EIZO monitors. The monitors are equipped with features and functions to reduce power consumption to a minimum.
The Auto EcoView function automatically adjusts the brightness of the screen to changes in ambient light. This saves electricity compared to a monitor that is operated at a constant brightness. Of course, you can still adjust the monitor manually. The EcoView index serves as a guide to how economical your setting is.
The EcoView Optimizer automatically reduces the backlight in dark images, thereby reducing power consumption. At the same time, the signal is amplified and the color tone values are adjusted. The result: you experience the usual image quality with lower consumption.
These EcoView technologies reduce overall power consumption by up to 50%* compared to the display at maximum brightness. Another plus: the automatic brightness adjustment can be easy on your eyes.
* Typical power consumption when no USB Power Delivery is used.
The monitors have an integrated mechanical power switch, which is extremely practical and energy-saving: If you switch off the monitor using the power switch, the device will stop consuming any power at all. Moreover, it consumes a maximum of 0.4 watt in standby mode.
FlexScan monitors from EIZO are produced in accordance with international environmental regulations and in a socially responsible manner. Suppliers along the supply chain are carefully selected and have also committed themselves to this responsibility. During the design process, attention was paid to the low use of resources with high-quality components and materials as well as careful production. In addition, FlexScan monitors protect resources and the climate thanks to their long service life, warranty and repairability.
Read detailed information about product sustainability here.
The EV4340X is made of more than 75% recycled plastic. This reduces the amount of plastic waste entering the environment, conserves resources and promotes the reuse of materials.
Reducing the use of volatile organic compounds (VOCs) in material production, such as those found in certain paints and varnishes, is also of global interest.
Through years of research, EIZO has succeeded in achieving a smooth, nearly homogeneous color and texture in its monitor housings without the use of varnish.
For the packaging of the EV4340X, EIZO uses a padding made of moulded pulp cellulose. The material is made from recycled cardboard and paper and has a much lower environmental impact when disposed of than traditional polystyrene or plastic. All cables are stored in a cardboard compartment instead of being individually packed in plastic bags.
The monitor is certified according to important and comprehensive sustainability standards such as ENERGY STAR®. In addition, it has an EPEAT Silver registration for compliance with strict sustainability standards at the highest level, which is even supplemented by a Climate + award on science-based climate protection standards.
The EV4340X represents a safe investment if aspects such as ESG (Environmental, Social and Corporate Governance) or SDG (Sustainable Development Goals) of the United Nations are to be observed and required guidelines are to be complied with.

Around your product
Software for network-wide settings.
Test the properties and parametres of your monitor quickly and easily with software developed in-house at EIZO.
With Screen InStyle, power, colour, brightness and other settings can be easily managed. Screen InStyle Server allows system administrators to manage and control monitors and PCs connected to the network.
Yes, this is possible with an open and closed notebook through the monitor's power delivery function. To do this, deactivate the USB-C power supply of the notebook in idle mode in the Admininstrator menu of the monitor.
Compatibility Mode ON = Power supply active in idle mode
Compatiblitly Mode OFF = Power supply only when switched on
To start the notebook with the monitor switched on, please activate the function "Power On with AC attach" in its BIOS/UEFI.
Depending on the computer, the function name may be slightly different.
To keep your monitor looking like new at all times and to prolong the service life of your device, we recommend cleaning it regularly. Clean the casing and LCD surface as described below:
IMPORTANT: Never use thinner, benzene, alcohol (ethanol, methanol or isopropyl alcohol), scouring agents or other strong solvents as these may damage the casing and the LCD display.
Casing
Remove marks by wiping the casing with a soft cloth, which you have previously moistened with a mild cleaning agent. Never spray wax or cleaning agents directly on to the casing. (The manual contains exact details.)
LCD display
Where necessary, the monitor surface may be cleaned using a soft cloth (for example a cotton cloth or glasses cloth). Stubborn marks can generally be removed by wetting the cloth with a bit of water to increase the cleaning strength.
The integrated KVM switch allows you to connect up to three computers simultaneously to the monitor. You can use it to switch between devices that are currently plugged into the USB ports on your monitor (for example, a keyboard or mouse).
To do so, please proceed as follows:
When the KVM functionality is enabled, the monitor automatically switches the controls to the active video input. Peripherals are connected to the USB-C device via a USB-C cable. Peripherals are connected to the HDMI/DisplayPort devices via the USB-B port.
Monitors and computers use a handshake to separately negotiate the power supply. The power supply is therefore protected against overloads and can be connected by the user without having to do anything but plug in the cable. We recommend using the USB-C cable supplied with the monitor since it supports 5A charging currents.
EIZO monitors support DisplayPort Alternate Mode with their USB-C interface. This means they can correctly display image signals from Thunderbolt 3 or Thunderbolt 4 ports via USB-C connection. The USB-C signal cable supplied by EIZO with the monitor has the optimal suitability.
Alternatively, monitors with a DisplayPort socket can be connected using a suitable cable. The CP200 signal cable (USB-C (TB3/TB4) to DisplayPort) provided by EIZO is the most suitable.
A connection from Thunderbolt 3 or Thunderbolt 4 ports to the HDMI interface of the monitor can work with suitable active adapters/cables. However, we recommend using the USB-C or DisplayPort interface of the monitor.
Yes, the USB LAN interface in EIZO monitors is usually suitable for use. For authentication during software deployment and system maintenance of client machines, we recommend using secure and unique GUID/UUID (Universally Unique Identifier) instead of MAC addresses.
Note: The use of MAC addresses can be incomplete because NICs such as USB LAN adapters, docks or monitors have their own MAC addresses and computers without a LAN port do not have a MAC address of the NIC. In addition, incompatibilities can - not infrequently - occur between hardware from different manufacturers. The use of GUID/UUID is manufacturer-independent.
GUID/UUID authentication for PXE-initiated deployments can be set quite easily in System Center Configuration Manager.
The following chat describes how it works:
Reusing the same NIC for multiple PXE initiated deployments in System Center Configuration Manager OSD - Microsoft Community Hub
Yes, the USB LAN interface in EIZO monitors is suitable for this. Each network adapter has its own MAC address, so computer authentication procedures are needed to replace the monitor's MAC address with the computer's address.
However, the procedures for the so-called MAC address pass-through are proprietary and lie within the sphere of influence of the PC manufacturers. Hardware from different manufacturers may be incompatible with each other. In this respect, the actual function must be checked or confirmed by the computer manufacturer.
If there is a lack of EIZO compatible support by the computer or its BIOS, the MAC address of the computer can be cloned into the EIZO monitor. For this purpose, we offer the free software "EIZO MAC Address Clone Utility" for Windows. This solution is manufacturer-independent.
As a rule, with the known methods, the MAC address transmitted to monitors is volatile after shutting down or removing the computer. This also applies to the "EIZO MAC Address Clone Utility".
Note: EIZO monitors with LAN interface support PXE. For PXE and authentication during software deployment and system maintenance of client machines, we recommend the use of secure and unique GUID/UUID (Universally Unique Identifier) instead of MAC addresses and their clones (see also FAQ on PXE).
The USB-C connection is not established, is unstable or fails sporadically.
How can I prevent/fix this?
On a case-by-case basis, one or more of the following measures may help.
EIZO provides up to a five-year warranty, although some devices have a different warranty period. You can find out the exact warranty periods for each product either in the warranty terms and conditions above, in the datasheet, or on the EIZO international website. The long warranty periods are made possible by a highly developed manufacturing process based on a simple principle of success: sophisticated and innovative monitor technology, manufactured from high-end materials. For you, the 5-year warranty means a high level of investment security and savings on follow-up costs (total cost of ownership), which would be incurred without warranty service, for example, for maintenance and repairs.
