Graphic designers who work to professional standards - for example in print design, corporate branding or editorial - need a graphics monitor with AdobeRGB color space to ensure color accuracy and precision throughout the entire workflow.

Monitors with AdobeRGB color space
Why an AdobeRGB monitor is essential for professional graphics work
To the AdobeRGB monitors
Extended color space
What distinguishes the AdobeRGB color space - and why is it relevant for graphics monitors?
The AdobeRGB color space was specially developed for the requirements of professional image processing and contains significantly more saturated colors compared to sRGB - especially in the green and blue tones. For graphic designers working with color-critical projects, the AdobeRGB color space is essential: it also enables the display of saturated colors as they will later appear in print or digital media. EIZO ColorEdge series monitors offer almost complete AdobeRGB coverage (≥99%), making them ideal for tasks such as pre-press, soft proofing, retouching, color correction and high-end design. Combined with 10-bit color representation, hardware calibration and a 16-bit LUT, they guarantee consistent, color-accurate reproduction across the entire creative workflow.

CMYK vs. RGB: Why AdobeRGB is the bridge to professional printing
While sRGB and AdobeRGB are RGB-based color spaces designed for display on digital displays, CMYK is a subtractive color system used in professional printing. Many common CMYK color spaces, such as ISO Coated v2, exceed the sRGB color space but are within the AdobeRGB color space. A monitor with a large AdobeRGB color space coverage can be used to reliably simulate the print result in the soft proof view. This is not possible with a monitor that can only display the sRGB color space. For graphic designers who prepare their work precisely for printing, a Wide Gamut monitor, i.e. a monitor with a large color space, is therefore indispensable. Monitors with at least 99% AdobeRGB coverage*, such as the models in the EIZO ColorEdge series, are therefore the perfect choice for professional workflows in print design, soft proofing and color management.

FAQ
Frequently asked questions about the creative workflow
International standard for an RGB color space. In order to enable color matching between different applications and devices such as monitors, scanners and digital cameras, a color space was defined that most devices can comply with. sRGB images that are captured or output on "sRBG devices" have a maximum of the full sRGB color gamut and no colors that lie outside the sRGB color space. Color assignment, white point and gamma are fixed.
Wide Gamut refers to a color space that is significantly larger than the visible palette of conventional LCDs. Depending on the model, it covers up to 100% NTSC and 99% of the Adobe RGB color space. The colors of these monitors produce a realistic image quality never before achieved with LCDs.
Here, the signal values in the monitor are assigned to the color tone values for the output. For precise color control, EIZO monitors have a 24-, 16-, 14- or 10-bit instead of the usual 8-bit Look-Up-Table (LUT). This is precision work performed by a high-performance chip developed by EIZO specifically for this purpose.
Typical 1D Look-Up-Tables (LUT) have separate tables for red, green and blue. For particularly precise color control, EIZO combines the color assignment into a single, three-dimensional Look-Up-Table (3D-LUT), depending on the model, thus ensuring the exact addition of the basic colors to any hue - a key technology for the ideal gray wedge and high-precision color reproduction.
Homogeneous luminance distribution and good color purity are crucial for particularly accurate image reproduction. This is ensured by the DUE circuit, Digital Uniformity Equalizer. It automatically corrects irregularities in luminance and chrominance for each tonal value across the entire screen - pixel by pixel.
In conjunction with frame rate control (FRC) of the LCD modules, CG screens allow - depending on the model - a 10-bit color resolution. These screens display even the finest tonal gradations with one billion colors. Corresponding 10-bit support by the application software and graphics card is a prerequisite.
ColorEdge LCD monitors can be hardware calibrated and profiled with the EIZO ColorNavigator software. IMPORTANT: Please do not use any other calibration software that may not be able to use the hardware function of the ColorEdge LCD monitors.
