EIZO announces completion of new technology hub
EIZO Corporation is pleased to announce the completion of its new Technology Hub, which has been under construction at the company’s headquarters site. Focused on driving the future growth of its visual display technologies, the Technology Hub has been designed to offer expansive floor space while integrating proactive environmental measures to promote sustainability. At the heart of the Technology Hub, EIZO will intensify the development of core product lines and systems, enhance responsiveness to customer needs, and further advance its business model to fuel sustained growth
1. Strategic Value of the Technology Hub
With the completion of the Technology Hub, EIZO has expanded the total floor space at its headquarters site by 22%. This expansion provides substantial capacity to accommodate the increase in personnel required for the increasingly sophisticated and diversified development of its visual display technologies, as well as enhanced customer support.
The Technology Hub aggregates the company’s technical departments and includes a state-of-the-art Technical Center, where development, engineering, planning, and sales teams collaborate to conduct technical verifications. By leveraging these advanced facilities, EIZO will strengthen its ability to make timely proposals, enhancing its problem-solving initiatives. Additionally, it features a versatile multipurpose hall designed to host a wide range of events for customers, business partners, and employees of EIZO Group companies.
In addition, the expanded space allows for a comprehensive reconfiguration of workplace layouts across the entire site, including existing buildings. These enhancements are designed to foster greater creativity, boost productivity, and deepen employee engagement while also reinforcing EIZO’s ability to attract and retain top talent.
2. Advancing Sustainability through the Technology Hub
The Technology Hub was built to meet the advanced ZEB (Net Zero Energy Building) standard, featuring high-performance insulation in exterior walls and windows, along with energy-efficient air conditioning and lighting systems. Aligned with EIZO’s 'Transition to Net Zero Plan'*, the company aims to achieve ZEB certification for its entire site through the renovation and upgrading of equipment in existing buildings.
The rooftop of the Technology Hub is equipped with a solar power system capable of generating approximately 170,000 kWh annually. With this installation, total annual solar power generation across EIZO’s headquarters site now amounts to approximately 1.1 million kWh - enough to cover about 23% of the electricity required to operate the entire site.
*EIZO has established its “Transition to Net Zero” sustainability goal in May 2023 and as one of its measures, has using 100% renewable energy to all electricity at its manufacturing facilities in Japan since January 2024.
